DUNLAP, MARIAH
(12 Apr 1923, Thursday, Elk City News-Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
OBITUARY.  Mariah Grover Dunlap was born in Indiana, January 16th, 1839;
died April 3rd, 1923, age 84 years, 2 months and 12 days.  She was married
to Richard Dunlap in 1854 to which union was born 5 children, three boys
and two girls.  All but one of the children are still living, Mrs. Wm.
Stinson who died in 1916.
"Grandma" had 36 grand-children and 42 great grand-children.
Sister Dunlap was religious most all of her life.  She intelligently
obeyed the gospel and lived a faithful Christian until death claimed her. 
She was buried in the Red Hill cemetery near Hammon in the presence of  a
large circle of relatives and friends.
The writer spoke words of consolation and comfort to the loved ones.  W.

(Other Notes): Colter Items:  Grandma Dunlap was buried Wednesday, April
the 8th at the Red Hill cemetery.  She surely will be missed in our
community, for she was loved by everyone.  She lived a devoted Christian
life, living for others instead of herself.  We extend sympathy to the
entire family.
