(14 Mar 1906, Wednesday, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Charles P. Eden. Whereas, it has been our misfortune to have the great reaper of death to remove from our midst, a worthy citizen and a noble brother of the Sandstone local No. 1404 of the F.E. & C.V. of A. in person of Charles P. Eden. Brother Eden departed this life March 9, 1906, surrounded by friends and family. The union as requested by the wife of the deceased, conducting the funeral services, at 12 o'clock, on the 10th, there was a large procession formed at the home and accompanied the deceased to the Sandstone school house where Bro. Watson preached the funeral sermon. A procession formed at the school house and marched to the cemetery, the choir sang, What a Friend we have in Jesus, and Bro. Farmer read the ritual ceremony, followed with a prayer by S. B. Lyda, the choir sang God be with you 'till we meet again, while the pall bearers deposited the deceased in the last resting place. Bro. Watson then dismissed the congregation. We as union brothers do extend to the bereaved family our heartfelt sympathy and express our sorrows for the great misfortune that has occured (sic) to them. Committee: M. Stroud, A. J. Gove, C. G.
