ELLIOTT DIES IN COLORADO. T. J. Elliott, a son-in-law of Mrs. M. A. Smallwood, died at Grand Junction, Colorado, November 22nd. The deceased came to Elk City seventeen years ago and filed on a claim five miles northwest of this place. He lived there twelve years and then moved to Colorado. He was well known to a large number of our citizens and it was with deep regret they learned of his illness. His wife and son George helped care for him during illness. In his death his wife has lost a devoted husband, his children a kind father and community a worthy citizen. The following is taken from a Grand Junction newspaper: T. J. Elliott. T. J. Elliott, a rancher living about four miles west of this city and well known in the Grand Valley, died at the influenza hospital at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mr. Elliott was 55 years of age and was born in Ohio, coming to this section about four years ago when he secured employment with the Garfield Coal company at its mines near Palisade a few months ago he purchased a ranch and moved upon it with his family. Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife, three children, his mother, three brothers and a sister. The children are two boys, George and James, and a daughter, Mrs. Howard Smith, whose husband is in France in the service. His brothers are F. O. Elliott of Topeka, Kans., W. E. Elliott of Colona, Colo., and W. C. Elliott who lives between this city and Fruita. His sister, Mrs. Minnie Williamson, and his mother live in Hutchinson, Kans. Sleep on dear one and take your rest.
