JAMES L. W. EVANS "Beyond this gate our loved finds happiness and rest, and there is comfort in the thought that a loving God knows best. There is an open gate at the end of the road Through which each must pass alone. And there is a light we cannot see but the Father claims His own." Mr. James L. EVANS ws born March 9, 1920 in Dallas County, Texas to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis EVANS. He departed this life April 30, 1977. Later the family moved to Texola, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Baptist church while at Texola. He married Pauline LOINS in 1947; no children were born to this union. Later he and Willie Mae HUGERS unioned together; to this union two daughters were born, LaHoma and Carolyn EVANS. He leaves to mourn five step-children, Arthur HUGERS and Geneva ADAMS, both of Amarillo, Texas and Freddie and Linda HUGERS, both of Elk City, and Jerry HUGERS. Also six brothers, Robert and Octvee, both of Amarillo, Johnnie of Texola, Cornelies, Willis and Bennie, all of Elk City. And three sisters, Mrs. Willie B. SHAVER of Sacramento, California, Doretha SHERIDAN of Elk City, and Marie WATKINS of Erick, and a host of relatives and friends.
