(27 Jun 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Services for Joseph M. Farmer Will be Held Here Tomorrow. Funeral services for Joseph M. Farmer will be held at the First Baptist church. Rev. J. F. Curtis pastor of the First Baptist Church of Hammon will conduct the final rites. Mr. Farmer, 78, pioneer in this community, died of heart failure at 9 o'clock on the premises of his residence on West Fifth street. Mr. Farmer was born December 25, 1852 in Polk county, Mo., near Jefferson City. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Farmer, a daughter, Mrs. Dona Dawson, of Houston, Mo., and two sons, William S. Farmer and Samuel J. Farmer, who live in the Sandstone community, near here. Interment will be made in the Berlin cemetery. Killough-Hullum, funeral directors, are in charge of arrangements. Farmer, pioneer of Beckham county, died of heart failure at his home on northwest street in Elk City, Friday, at the age of 78 years. Funeral services were held for Farmer, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the First Baptist Church in Elk City, Rev. J. F. Curtis, pastor of the Hammon Baptist Church preached the funeral sermon. Mr. Farmer was born December 15, 1852 in Polk county, Mo., near Jefferson City. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Farmer, a daughter, Mrs. Dona Dawson, of Houston, Mo., and two sons, William S. Farmer and Samuel J.
