Feland departed the walks of this life August 22, 1928. Truly, she was "as a lordly cedar green with boughs," her life always green with pleasant memories and rich in good works. Though 68 (sic) years of age, yet she delighted in serving a pleasant meal to any of her loved ones and this was an art with her, that few modern day home keepers could surpass. She loved her husband dearly and hated the sin that so often overcame him. Yet his call "Molly" (no one else could say that as he could to her) would bring a response in her eyes that no others could bring and her interest was always for him to the last. She was stricken suddenly with paralysis, being sick only one week, was a patient sufferer. She felt at once that God had called her and admonished her loved ones to lose sight of this world and build for the Great Beyond. Mrs. C. C. Perry of this city, was her much loved eldest daughter, who with her husband and family of 12 delightful boys and girls, were her joy and pride, and they in return remembered her in many little ways that afforded her much pleasure. Her other two daughters, Mrs. Claude Smith and family of Sweetwater, and Mrs. Fred Crouch of Hobart, were much loved. Mother Feland was making her home with Mr. Crouch in Hobart at the time of her death. The death room was a touching scene, filled with those that loved her dearly, ready to minister to her slightest wish and to get the last farewell look of life out of her loving eyes. She slipped away into the beautiful home prepared for all those who love His appearing. Mary Preston Freeman was born near Nashville, Tenn., March 18, 1863. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Zacchaeus Freeman, her father having died when she was five years old, and her mother dying about 25 years ago. She leaves to mourn her loss a brother and sister, Mr. Tom Freeman and Mrs. Amie Coffee of Sweetwater, and a brother and sister, Mrs. Mose Freeman and Mrs. Joscie Holms of Wingo, Ky., and a host of friends to whom her memory will always be pleasant. Among them, Mr. and Mrs. E. Matherson of Moore, Okla., who came to pay their last respects to her. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
