On Sunday June 21st as the dark clouds were gathering and the last rays of an evening sun shone through, transforming the rain drops to glittering diamonds, God sent his messenger to earth and bore home the sweet spirit of little Raymond Bedford Fenter, the three and one half year old son of Walter Fenter and wife. Little Raymond was taken ill on Monday and on Thursday it was found necessary to operate in hopes of alleviating the pain of the little sufferer but as no relief could be given he was trusted to the hands of the One who is able to give relief when human hands are helpless. Little Raymond was a child of sweet and loving disposition and his little song and baby words will be missed by friends and neighbors as well as in the home. He was a busy little boy always gathering the first flowers of spring that grew wild near his home from dawn to twilight and were we permitted to look beyond the veil we would no doubt see little Raymond picking the fairest specimens that bloom in the celestial city and see him quenching his thirst and bathing his fevered brow and little hands in that peaceful stream that flows by the house of God. The little head can never more be pillowed on a loving Mother's breast, but Our Heavenly Father is able to gather the little lambs in his arms as he calls them one by one and shelter them safe from the storm. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Forrest Maddox. --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
