(17 Oct 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
PROF. ARTHUR FISHER DIES AT HINTON.
The following from the Weatherford Democrat will be read with sorrow by
the friends of Prof. Fisher, who was principal of the Central school of
Elk City, last year:
Arthur Fisher Dead.
News was received here of the death of Arthur A. Fisher yesterday morning
at Hinton after an illness of four days resulting from influenza.  Mr.
Fisher was one of the best known of the young men who attended the Normal
and for the past three years he had made his home with the Geo. Redmund
family.  He was a graduate of the Southwestern and two years ago was the
teacher of the eighth grade and coach of the basket ball team at the
public school.  Last year he was the principal of the Elk City ward
school.  He had made several attempts to enlist in the navy and army but
was still recuperating from an operation performed for appendicitis and
was rejected.  He had numerous friends here who receive the news with
sorrow and sympathy for his loved ones.
