All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ FIX, HELEN NORAH (30 May 1929, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Helen Norah Fix, the widow of John A. Fix passed away April 15, 1929 at her farm home near Livingston, Virginia. She was a daughter of Abraham McFaddin and Susan Paxton McFaddin. She was born April 19, 1856, near Lexington, Virginia, and was married to John A. Fix in 1874. To this union 12 children were born, eight boys and four girls. Two of them preceded her in death, John Baxter Fix and Howard A. Fix. Those surviving here are Roy McFaddin Fix, William S., Samuel G., James H., and Daniel E. Fix and Mrs. Lelia A. Hull, Maggie Beatty and Mrs. Susie Tolley all of near Lexington, Va., Hubert M. Fix and Mrs. Ida B. Zollman of Elk City. They were all present at the funeral except Hubert M. Fix. There survives 53 grandchildren and two great grandchildren and two brothers, John McFaddin of Fancy Hill, Va., and Abraham Daniel McFaddin of Clark's Hill, Indiana; three sisters, Mrs. Nanie Bubeck of Staunton, Va., and Mrs. Bettie Lam, and Mrs. Nettie Paxton of near Lexington, Va. Mrs. Fix in early life joined the Baptist church. After her marriage she and her husband were united with the new Monmouth Presbyterian church of which she was a member at the time of her death. Funeral services were held at the new Monmouth church by her pastor, J. J. Murry of Lexington, Virginia.
