Theodore Joel Flora, infant child of Louis and Jennie Flora, was born April 19th, 1907, at Elk City, Okla., being one month and one day old. He was a large child of his age and gave promise of a great future but the destroying angel of disease claimed him as its victim and he passed away. We who remain know that our great loss is his eternal gain. Rest on beloved, God will give his loved ones rest, such rest as is prepared for all his children and may little Theodore pass to the higher realms of day, clothed in garments of purity. Farewell, but not forever, there will be glorious dawn and we shall meet on that glorious resurrection morn. Brother and sister Flora feel in this their bereavement, very thankful to their many friends for their kindness on this their great trial, in caring for the sufferer during his short sickness and burial. The funeral services were held from the residence of brother and sister Harrison, father and mother of sister Austin, Elk City, Oklahoma, on Wednesday, March 20th, 1907, as brother and sister Flora had brought their little one to the city for treatment, as they lived five miles southeast of Elk City. Rev. D. J. M. Wood of the M. E. Church preached the sermon from Mathew, 19th chapter, and 14th verse. "Suffer little children to come unto me, for such is the kingdom of Heaven." --------------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.htm
