August, 1989) Funeral services were held for Althea Flynt on August 21, 1989, in the Hammon Baptist Church. Mrs. Flynt died on Aug. 18 in the Four Seasons Home, Norman, at the age of 87. Althea Jane "Tommie" Flynt was born on June 6, 1902, in Marshall, Ark., the daughter of J. A. and Nellie (Brown) Dugger. She lived most of her life in Hammon. She was graduated from Hammon high school in 1920. She was a very active member of the Hammon Baptist church and attended the Sr. Women's Adult Sunday School Class. She married L. A. Flynt on Aug. 29, 1923, in Hammon and he preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 1984. She and her husband owned and operated the Flynt Grocery in Hammon for 40 years until their retirement. She is survived her son, Joseph Flynt, of Norman; three grandchildren, Diana and her husband, Joe E. Edwards of OKC; Joseph A. Flynt II and Paul R. and Kim Flynt of Norman; three great grandchildren; three brothers, H. A. Dugger of Anadarko, E. B. Dugger and R. L. Dugger of Hammon; and two sisters, Muriel Rice of Kansas City and Marie Vignal of Amarillo, Tx. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, Patrick, one brother and sister. Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery.
