Florence Agnes Foster, eldest daughter of Brother Frank and Maggie Foster, departed this life August 12, 1907, after an illness of two or three weeks. Florence never seemed to have recovered from the attack of measles which she had in the spring. She was born December 7, 1892, making her fourteen years eight months and five days old. About one year ago this month Florence was genuinely converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal church South, a few days after her conversion. Those who were immediately acquainted with her knew her to be a christian. In speaking of the meeting that is now in progress at the Walker camp ground she expressed a very great anticipation of the joy of being permitted to associate with those who were converted and joined the church the same time she did. Little did she or her parents dream that on the very day the meeting began that she would say "goodbye" to friends and things of earth. We sympathize with the bereaved ones, in the loss of this flower that was just budding into beauty but Florence is not dead, for her life was hid with Christ in God. The funeral was conducted at the home five miles and a half west of Elk City, by her pastor assisted by Bro. Meeks, after which she was laid away in the Elk City cemetery to await the resurrection of the just. G. R. Wright, P.
