(13 Mar 1924, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF MRS. ADDIE L. FOUNTAIN. After helping to care for her daughters and grandchildren who had the measles, Mrs. Addie Fountain was stricken with the disease, and complications setting up, caused her death on Tuesday. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at the Church of Christ where many friends and relatives were present to pay their last respects to this noble woman. Her sons-in-law who loved her devotedly had not spared any expense or care during her illness and at death had the body beautifully cared for and placed in a lovely white casket where she lay so peacefully, the love and nobility of her life showing forth on her features. Beautiful flowers covered the casket when it was carried to the church, one large floral offering coming from the church and one from the children with "Mother" on same. After the choir sang Rev. Carman spoke comforting words. Interment was made in Canute cemetery. Mrs. Fountain's maiden name was Hardegree. She was born in East Texas, September 28, 1871 and died March 11th, 1924, aged 52 years, 6 months and 13 days. She united with the Church of Christ in young girlhood and ever lived a true Christian. She was married to Franklin Fountain in August 1893. To this union was born two daughters, who are now Mrs. John Bonny and Mrs. Lonnie Midyett, both of Elk City. Her husband died twenty-six years ago, and she cared for the girls until they were grown and married, afterwards living with Mrs. Bonny. She was a devoted mother, and was so proud of her four little grandchildren, two of Mrs. Bonny's and two of Mrs. Midyett. Three brothers, Frank and Will Hardegree of Canute, and George Hardegree, of Clinton; two sisters, Mrs. H. B. Pullen of Foss, and Mrs. Wm.
