GEFFS, LOIS
(30 Nov 1916, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
OBITUARY.  The death angel came and took from our midst Miss Lois Geffs on
Saturday night, November 11, 1916, after suffering one month with that
dreaded disease, typhoid fever.
Lois was nineteem years of age and had grown up in this community.  She
was a good, kind girl and was loved by all.  While she never made any
profession of religion before her illness, on her sick bed left evidence
that her mind and heart had turned to God, for she was heard to hum "Only
Trust Him" and "Nearer My God to Thee" and to say "Glory", that being
evidence that she loved God then.
Lois will be missed by the father, mother and two sisters, for they can
never find one who can take her place, but to them we can only say, cheer
up and live to meet your jewel.
