GIBBINS, NANCY JANE
(6 Dec 1928, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Mrs. Nancy Jane Gibbins.
Nancy Jane Gibbins was born on April 30, 1844, in Tennessee, and departed
from this life in Elk City, Oklahoma, on November 25, 1928, at the age of
84 years, 6 months and 25 days.  At the age of 12 years she moved with her
parents to Arkansas, later moving to Texas, where she resided for some
thirty years, and for the past twenty years she has lived near Elk City,
Oklahoma.
She was united in marriage with J. H. Gibbins in 1867, to which union nine
children were born.  Her husband preceded her in death about 43 years ago.
 The following named sons and daughters survive their mother:
Mrs. M. C. Richey of Ringgold, Tex., Mrs. George Etter of Elk City, Okla.;
W. T. Gibbins of Elmer, Okla.; J. B. Gibbins of Groom, Texas; Mrs. W. L.
Wade of Elk City, Okla.; Mrs. Grace Yowell of Bowie, Texas; H. B. Gibbins,
of Elk City, Okla.
The deceased also leaves a large number of grand children and great grand
children.
Mrs. Gibbins became a Christian more than forty years ago and continued in
that faith until the time of her death.  She was known and loved by a
large circle of friends both in this community and in other communities in
which she has lived.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Christian Church on November
28th, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Carl V. Covey in charge of the services. 
Interment was made in Fairlawn cemetery.
