A. Givens, born in McDonald County, Mo., August 24, 1854, died April 26, 1924. Mr. Givins married John Ann Hollway of Gainesville, Texas, who survives him, ten children were born to them, two having passed away before their father. Those living are Mrs. Iva Elder of Tuttle, Okla., Mrs. Belle Red of Childress, Texas, Mr. Marion Givens, Amber, Okla., Mrs. Myrtle Boberry, Roks, Penn., Mr. Jesse Givens, Doxey, Okla., Mr. Tom Givens, Villa Green, Colo., Mrs. Mydia Craig, Wheeler, Texas, Mrs. Daisy Red and Mr. Geo. Givens of Berlin. Only four of the children being at the bedside of the father when he passed into his last sleep. We extend our sympathy and condolence to the bereaved family. (8 May 1924, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): William Antler Givens was born in McDonald County, Mo., August 24th, 1854 and died at Berlin, Okla., April 26th, 1924. He was married to Miss John Ann Hollaway, the 5th of January, 1873, in Gainsville (sic), Texas. To this union was born ten children, the eldest passing away in infancy; Mrs. Iva Elder of Tuttle, Okla., Mrs. Belle Red of Berlin, Okla., Marion Givens of Amber, Okla., Jess Givens, Doxey, Okla., Tom Givens of Villa Green, Colo., who passed away April 20th 1918; Mrs. Myrtle Babery of Rock, Penn., Mrs. Mida Craig of Wheeler, Texas, George Givens of Berlin. Mr. Givens became a christian when a young man.
