(23 Feb 1910, Wednesday, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Man Dies Suddenly. A. J. Gorer who was working with the railroad grading crew 10 miles south of town dropped dead Tuesday morning of heart failure. He is a man 45 years old. His people are thought to be living in Ennis, Texas. The remains were taken to Carpenter's undertaking rooms and will be buried Thursday in this city cemetery. Every effort is being made to locate his relatives. (24 Feb 1910, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): INSTANT DEATH. A. J. Gorer, working with Palmer & Ramsey, W. F. & N. W. Ry., grading contractors, camped ten miles southwest, dropped dead at 7 a.m. yesterday of heart trouble. He awoke apparently well and started from the bunk to breakfast but did not make it for the cause already explained. He had been dumping wheeled scrapers for the above named company. When last heard from his folks lived at Innis (sic), Texas.
