GOWDY, LENA
(14 Nov 1918, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
DEATH OF MRS. WILL GOWDY.
Mrs. Lena Hilgenberg Gowdy died at her home three miles west of Elk City,
Monday November 11th, 1918, of pneumonia.
The deceased was the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Hilgenberg and
was born in Vernon, Texas, August 14th, 1897 and was aged 21 years, 3
months and 7 days.  She was converted in early childhood uniting with the
Presbyterian church of Merritt, and was a true and faithful christian.
She was united in marriage to William L. Gowdy December 20th, 1915.  She
leaves to mourn her loss her husband, father, mother and six brothers.
Funeral services were conducted at the Fairlawn cemetery Wednesday
afternoon, November 13th, Rev. W. A. Posey, officiating.
The deepest sympathy is expressed by everyone for the family who have lost
a loving wife, daughter and sister.
