(1 Jan 1903, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mrs. Alfred G. Gray, of Cheyenne, departed this life last Friday, December 26th, at her home in Cheyenne after a long and lingering illness. Mrs. Gray was a woman loved by everyone who had the pleasure of forming her acquaintance and death was a great loss, not only to the circle of loved ones and dear friends of the family, but to the county at large. Coming to this county in an early day of its existence, she encountered all the struggles and disappointment and success of a pioneer, and has left a loving remembrance of womanly virtue, unselfish devotion to husband, family and friends. Our weak pen can not extoll her goodness. She was a womanly woman of rare attainments and all her life was a blessing to all who knew her. The sympathy of the whole county is extended to the bereaved husband and child who survive her. The interment took place at Cheyenne Sunday.
