GUTHRIE, RENNA
(18 Nov 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Rennie Guthrie, wife of Jessie Guthrie and the oldest daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. D. Ross, was born in Lincoln, Neb., Oct. 9, 1891, died at a
hospital in Arizona, Nov. 4, 1926, age 35 years and 26 days.  She was
married to Jessie Guthrie Nov. 27, 1909, to this union 5 sons were born,
James D., Lonnie, Glen, Jessie and Leroy.  She leaves to mourn her going
three brothers and five sisters, Chas. Ross of Carpenter, Okla., Mrs. Tom
Dodson of Clinton, Okla., Nola Bowman, Jessie Reauls, Bessie Bowman,
Jackie, Elva and Elsa Ross of Elk City, also her parents and many friends.
 Mrs. Guthrie moved to Geary, Okla., when only a baby and later to a
homestead 1 mile north of the Pixlee school, she was always an obedient
and industrious child, always willing to help care for the younger
children and help lighten the burdens of her mother.  She was a true
loving wife and mother, and will be greatly missed in her home and
community.  She was united with the First Christian Church of Elk City
nine years ago, and was a true follower until death.  She said only a few
months before leaving, she was prepared to meet her Savior.  She died with
a smile that triumph smile.  Oh death where is thy sting, oh grave, where
is thy victory, to the bereaved weep not as one that hast no hope, look to
the one that said "if you love me you will rejoice for I go to my father
and in my father's house are many mansions."
