Burial will be at Bellview Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service. Irene Dorothy Hall was born January 13, 1918 on the old homestead, north of Crawford to Elizabeth Kovach and John T. Haydu and died Tuesday, February 19, 2002 in the Palm Village Healthcare Center in Reedley, California at the age of 84. Irene spent many years of her childhood on the homestead. She received her education in Hartshorne attending Holy Rosary Catholic Elementary School and Public Hartshorne High, graduating in May of 1937. She came to the Elk City/Merritt District area in 1956 and was employed at the Town House Restaurant from 1957 to 1963. She then worked at the Flamingo Restaurant from 1963 to 1973. From 1974 until 1975, she was employed by Hodges Nursing Home. She was a member of the Catholic Church, having attended St. Matthew Catholic Church in Elk City, OK until her move to Pauls Valley, Oklahoma in 1981, where she became a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church. She belonged to the Legion of Mary and the altar Society and was a member of the Catholic Women's Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, James W. "Bill" Haydu. Survivors include her sons, Fred Hall and Ray Hall and three grandchildren The Elk City Daily News, Elk City, OK 20-Feb-2002
