All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ************************************************ HARRIS, JOE ANNA (Elk City Daily News, Elk City, Beckham, Ok, 11 Feb 1990) JOE ANNA HARRIS-Funeral services for Joe Anna Harris will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Martin Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dean Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery. After a long illness, Joe Anna died late Friday evening in San Antonio, Tex. She was born on the family farm near Carter on Dec. 20, 1925. She graduated from Carter High School in 1942 and then attended Oklahoma City University. She was employed by the Farmers National Bank in Elk City as an assistant cashier until 1953. Joe Anna was married to Gale Lee Harris Aug. 24, 1946. They lived in Elk City until 1954. A daughter, Jana, was born in 1953 and a son, Brad, was born in 1955. The family lived in Houston for 15 years moving to San Antonio in 1971 where they established Quality Furniture Company. She was loved and respected by their employees for her care and devotion to them and their families. She was a member of the Colonial Hills Methodist Church in San Antonio. Joe Anna was a caring mother, concerned in the welfare of her family and never complaining about the problem of living, trying every day to help someone else enjoy the wonderful gift of life. Survivors include her husband Gale, daughter Janna and son Brad, all of San Antonio. Her mother, Frankie Robinson of Elk City; sister, Dorothy Jameson, Oklahoma City; brother, Edgar Robinson, Nigeria, Africa, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father at the age of 99 in 1989. She will be returned Monday to Elk City by Martin Funeral Home Company aircraft. Viewing will be available Monday afternoon and Tuesday until service time at the Martin Funeral Home.
