(20 Mar 1925, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Death of Mrs. George Harter. The many friends of Mrs. Geo. L. Harter, of Puente, California, but formerly of Elk City, will be grieved to learn of her death, which occurred on Friday morning, March 13th at 10:30 o'clock, according to a letter received by Mrs. Alice Blackburn from Mrs. U. O. Wall. She died at the Pacific Hospital in Los Angeles, California, after suffering one week from flu and pneumonia. Her age was 42 years, 5 months and 6 days. The body was buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Los Angeles, Monday afternoon, March 16th. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, three children, Delbert, Allien and Margaret, her parents and two sisters. Mrs. Harter had a large circle of friends in Elk City and the news of her death will be a shock to all. She was held in high esteem by all who knew her and the memory of her sweet christian character will long remain. She was a member of the Baptist Church and this organization loses one of its most valued and faithful workers.
