L. Hastings of near Sayre, died last Thursday, Nov. 4, of diphtheria. The funeral was held on Friday and interment made at Doxey-Sayre cemetery. It is always hard to give up a loved one, but under these circumstances when because of contagious disease, friends and neighbors are unable to be near to give sympathy and help as they would like, it seems doubly hard. The bereaved parents have the deepest sympathy of all in their sorrow. (11 Nov 1920, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Kenneth, little nine-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L.
