(29 Apr 1908, Wednesday, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Died. On April 25, James M. Heaton was called from earthly labors, after an illness extending over a period of several years, but until recently not considered as approaching fatal termination. Mr. Heaton was born in the state of Indiana, April 25, 1840, moved to Missouri in an early day. He married Miss Martha L. Jones in October 1874. To this union was born three children, all of whom are living. Mr. Heaton has lived a consecrated Christian life and died in the faith of the Lord. Funeral services were held at the residence, three miles north of Elk City and the remains intered (sic) in the city cemetery, Rev. W. D. Joyner, officiating. OBITUARY. J. M. Heaton was born in Indiana April 5, 1841 (sic) moved to Missouri while quite young, was married to Miss Martha L. Jones in October 1874. He lived a consecrated christian life for 25 years and died April 25, 1908. He leaves three children, his wife died in 1882. The funeral services were conducted at the home three miles north of town Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by his pastor, W. D.
