From the Laorraine (ILL) Times, we find the following of the death of Mrs. Hedrick, formerly of Elk City, from acute appendicitis. She and her first husband, Herman Hartman, had charge of the creamery when it was first started here. He was killed at Altus by a train on the W.F. & N.W., backing into his auto. The article is as follows: "Mrs. Willis B. Hedrick Passes to Her Reward. Jeannette Mae Hedrick, daughter of William and Katie Karnes, was born August 1st, 1886. She was married April 3rd, 1904, to Herman Hartman, who passed away November 13, 1916. She was again married to Willis R. Hedrick on December 24, 1917, at Des Moines, Iowa. She died July 20th, leaving her husband, two sisters and one brother besides a host of friends. Mrs. Hedrick was the kind that the world can ill afford to lose. She made the world brighter by her life and the services she was rendering to the Master. Those who attended the funeral from away were Ray E.
