Ora Maud Black was born in Texas 25 years ago. Was Married to N. B. High in December 1906. Died at her home in Elk City, Monday night, October 6, 1913. About seven months ago, Mrs. High contracted tubercolosis (sic) of the lungs which developed very rapidly in spite of all the medical skill could do. Early in the summer the family took a trip overland into the mountains of New Mexico, with the hopes of benefiting her health, but they were compelled to return as the patient was growing weaker. She leaves besides her husband, two little girls, Deana Lee, six years old and Verle Jaunita, age five years, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Black of the Choctaw Hotel, five sisters; Mrs. Banister of Itasca, Texas; Mrs. Phillips of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; Mrs. McGinnis of Erick, Okla.; Miss Jessie and Lucile of this city and one brother Edgar of this place. Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday, conducted by Rev. C. L. Herring, after which the body was laid to rest in the City cemetery.
