HILL, MARY E.
(4 Dec 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Word has been received here of the recent death of Mrs. Mary E. Hill, 90,
of San Diego, California.  Mrs. Hill was an early resident of this city,
living here from about 1900 to 1917.  She is a sister of Mrs. Ellen
Simpson, and the grandmother, of Mrs. Marvin Smotherman, of this city.
Mrs. Hill was in Elk City about three years ago and was in a hospital here
for three months.  Her health has gradually failed since that time.  She
was residing with her daughter, Mrs. Joe Ashley, in California, at the
time of her death.  Besides one daughter with whom Mrs. Hill was living
another daughter, Mrs. Nellie Stiewig, of Tuskah, and two foster children
survive.
Mrs. Simpson has been visiting her son, T. H. Simpson at Leveland, Tex.,
for the past three months and returned to Elk City the first of the week.
