(7 Jun 1923, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DOC HUTCHERSON DEAD. Doc Hutcherson, known to almost every citizen of Washita county, died at his home at Oklahoma City last week, following an operation. "Doc" lived in Washita county for twenty three years. Beginning in the spring of 1911, he served this county four years as sheriff, making a splendid officer. He was sergeant at arms in the state senate at Oklahoma City during the legislature of four years ago and about two years ago, moved from near Port to Oklahoma City, where he had purchased a farm, and spent the remaining days of his life. His death makes three of Washita county's old sheriffs who have died within the past year, death having claimed previously "Bill" Griffin and "Jack" Parman. He was born in Collin county, Texas, March 7th, 1873, being 50 years, 2 months and 17 days of age at the time of his death. He came to this country from Collin county. He was married to Miss Mattie Seals October 31, 1894, at Sanger, Texas. He is survived by a wife and nine children, five sons and four daughters, all of whom are known in this county. Not all of them were able to reach here in time for the funeral. - Cordell (Washita Co.)
