N. JACKSON DEAD The body of Joseph N. Jackson was brought here last night from Fruita, Colorado, where he died of bronchial pneumonia, being with his daughter, Mrs. Ruby Campbell where he had made his home the past several years. He formerly lived near here and his wife was buried in Elk City cemetery eleven years ago. He was 77 years of age and is a brother of Dan Jackson near Cheyenne. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell accompanied the remains here. (29 Mar 1923, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): FUNERAL OF J. N. JACKSON The funeral of J. N. Jackson was held in the Baptist church last Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. E. D. Hamilton. The interment was made in East Fairlawn by the side of his wife who died here eleven years ago. His brother Dan Jackson and other relatives near Cheyenne were present at the funeral. Mr. Jackson was a relative of Mrs. Essie Word of this city. (6 Apr 1923, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): The body of Joseph N. Jackson of Fruita, Colo., was shipped here for burial March 22, to be placed beside his wife, who is buried at Fairlawn cemetery. Mr. Jackson was an old settler in the Cheyenne vicinity, and was well known in this section of the country.
