JAMES, ELIZA ELLEN
(23 Sep 1926, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Mrs. Eliza Ellen James was born in Kentucky July 30, 1850 and died at Elk
City, Oklahoma, September 22, 1926, at the age of seventy-six years, one
month and twenty-two days.  Funeral services were held at the First
Christian Church at 3:30 on Wednesday afternoon.  Burial at Fairlawn
cemetery.
OBITUARY
Lisa (sic) Ellen Herndon was born July 31 (sic), 1850, died Sept. 22,
1926.  Age 76 years, 1 month and 22 days.
She was married to J. H. James in October 1885, who preceded her in death
Dec 30, 1919. To this union was born 4 children all of whom were present
at the time of her death, Mrs. C. S. Ward, Elk City, Mrs. J. T. Bales,
Guthrey, Okla., Clarence H. James, Dayton, Ohio, O. H. James, Smith Grove,
Ky.  Mrs. James was the mother of five stepchildren.  Mrs. Emma Lawrence,
Weatherford, Okla., Mrs. W. J. Denton, Bowling Green, Ky., John , Martin
and Leslie James of Smith Grove, Ky.
Mrs. James united with the Christian church when a girl and lived a
faithful Christian life, although being afflicted for years.  She was
unable to attend services.
Owing to her ill health she came to home of her daughter Mrs. C. S. Ward
where she was lovingly cared for by her children and step children.
The funeral services were held at the Christian church Wednesday 3:30 p.m.
 The services were in charge of Rev. Lemmex, pastor of Christian Church.
