(4 Apr 1906, Wednesday, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): A. H. Johnson Dead. A. H. Johnson, father of Mrs. C. R. Stoval, of this city, and Mrs. Bender of near Ural, died at the former's home in this city of general debility, Monday afternoon. He came to this country several years ago from Georgia and filed on a claim near Ural. The interment took place at the city cemetery, where the Rev. J. T. M. Woods made a few appropriate and impressive remarks. The deceased was a Christian gentleman, being for 29 years a member of the Baptist church. The bereaved relatives and friends have our sympathy. (5 Apr 1906, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): We note the death in Elk City of Mr. A. H. Johnson, at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Carroll Stovall. Mr. Johnson had only been here a short time on a visit to his daughters, Mrs. Bender and Mrs. Stovall. He was a Georgian, where he leaves many friends and relatives to mourn his death, as well as at this place. We will remember with admiration and love the many generous acts of our departed friend, the loving kindness of his great tender heart, his sympathy for distressed and suffering humanity. His children have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. A. H. Johnson died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Carl Stoval in this city last Monday afternoon. Deceased had been a resident of this county for several years, and was a native of Georgia.
