All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* JONES, ROBERT WILSON (23 Aug 1928, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Robert Wilson Jones was born near Wiley, Texas, on August 16th, 1863, and departed this life at his home in Elk City, Oklahoma, on August 22nd, 1928, age 65 years and 7 days. At the early age of fourteen, he was converted and united with the Mt. Zion Methodist church near Millwood, Texas, and he continued his membership in the Methodist faith to the end of life. He leaves a wife, one brother, two sons and two daughters along with a host of friends to mourn his departure. Oscar Jones, the oldest son, is in Paris, France, and E. J. Jones, the youngest son, resides in Independence, Mo. Mrs. V. C. Coffee, one of the daughters, lives in New Mexico, and Mrs. J. D. Porter, another daughter, lives in Ft. Worth, Texas. None of the children are present. Judge Jones, as he was familiarly known among his friends, moved to Elk City during the year of 1912 and resided here until the end. He was a member of the Odd Fellows and Masonic orders of this city.
