All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* JOSEPH, EMMA ELDORA (Dec 1929, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Funeral services were held for 3 o'clock this afternoon for Mrs. David Joseph in the First Baptist church with Rev. C. S. Moad, pastor of the Church of God, Rev. H. W. Shirley, pastor of the First Baptist church, and Rev. Abbott, an old friend of the Joseph family, officiating. Mrs. Joseph died at her home in this city after an illness of three months. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph filed on land here in 1889, and are well known in this community. She was born June 13, 1865, in Bethany, Missouri. She became a member of the Christian Union church when a young girl and kept that faith until her death. Surviving Mrs. Joseph are her husband, David Joseph, and six children; four sons, Verne Joseph and Clyde Joseph, of this city, and Chester Joseph and Wilbur Joseph of Clinton; and two daughters, Mrs. Esther Abbott of Sayre, and Mrs. Mamie Cannon of Panhandle, Texas. Interment was made in Fairlawn cemetery.
