L. Whitlock in Elk City, Okla. He went to the army, and was stationed at Camp Travis, at San Antonio, Texas, for eight months. After returning from the army he lived at Simon City, Texas, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Julin (sic) for five years. Eleven months after being discharged from the army he was attacked by tuberculosis, for the past nine months he has been bedfast at the home of his sister. Everything was done that loving hands could do to restore his health, but, when his friends and relatives saw that that could not be done they did all they could to make his stay here on this earth as pleasant and happy as possible. Four months before his death he made a confession of faith and was baptized into the Church of Christ. He was not physically able to go to the church for the baptismal service, so it was arranged to hold the services in the home of his sister, Mrs. Whitlock. He leaves to mourn his going his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Julin, three sisters, Mrs. Cora Carpenter and Mrs. Lula Stanley of Kansas City and Mrs. R. L. Whitlock of Elk City and a host of other relatives and friends. Harman C. Whitlock, Miss Pearl Whitlock and Bob O'Bronion of Grandfield, Okla., and Earnest G. Whitlock of California, were here for the funeral. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 11, 1926, at 3 o'clock at the Church of Christ on east Third St. The American Legion in charge, Mr. B. A. Isom of Berlin officiating. CARD OF THANKS We take this means of expressing our thanks to our many friends who gave us assistance and sympathy during the illness and death of our son and brother. We trust that you all may have the same in your hours of trial. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Julian, Mrs. Cora Carpenter and family, Mrs. Lula Stanley and family, Roy Whitlock and family. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
