KARNES DEAD. William Anderson Karnes was born June 16th, 1839 in Crawford County, Indiana. Died in Elk City, Okla., on Nov. 15, 1924, age 85 years and 5 months. Married Nancy E. Lowe, Aug. 19th, 1860; from this union there were six children, four of whom are living. His first wife died at Hartshorne, Okla., April 9th, 1900. He married his present wife, who was Mary H. Scranton, on March 11, 1901 at Hartshorne, Okla., where they lived until about 1906, moving from there to Missouri where they remained until 1908, moving from Missouri to Kansas, remaining there one year, then coming to Oklahoma where they have lived at Carpenter and Elk City ever since. From this last union were born four children, two of whom are living, being Mrs. A. A. Reynolds and Mrs. W. H. Reynolds and who were present at his funeral. Mr. Karnes was a member of the Presbyterian Church for many years. Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday afternoon after which the body was taken to Hartshorne, Okla., for interment.
