All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* KELLY, ALBERT (27 Sep 1928, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Albert Kelly passed away at his home Friday, September 15, 1928, at the age of eighty one years, nine months and six days. Mr. Kelly fell early in this month, breaking his hip, this injury resulting in his death. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church Sunday afternoon with Rev. H. W. Shirley in charge. Interment was made in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Mr. Kelly was born December 15, 1846, in Randolph county, West Virginia. In 1909, he with his family moved to a farm near Elk City where he has made his home until the time of his death. He had been a loyal member of the Baptist church for the past fifty-three years, and, through his wonderful personality and friendly disposition has won the friendship and respect of practically everyone who has lived in this community. Thirteen children were born to this family, three of whom died in infancy. The deceased leaves his wife, Mrs. Mattie Kelly of Elk City, C. Kelly of Kanute (Canute), Dolly Wamsley of Huttonsville, W. Va., Miss Ida Belle (sic), Mill Creek, W. Va., John R. Kelly of Dallas, Texas. Will Kelly, M. C. Kelly, O. L. Kelly, Mrs. Kate Allison, Mrs. Carrie Hall and Ed Kelly, all of Elk City.
