(29 Sep, 1904, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mr. Y. M. Hulme of Jacksonville, Fla., with his lady, came in last Thursday, to visit his sisters, Mrs. R. H. Kinnebrew and Mrs. T. L. Van Vacter. (27 Sep 1906, Roger Mills Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): R. H. Kennibrew, a former citizen of Elk City, came in Sunday from Florida to look after business interests. (7 Aug 1907, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): R. H. KINNEBREW From a private letter to a friend we get the particulars of the death of R. H. Kinnebrew. He was taken sick on July 18, and rapidly grew worse until his death occurred on the 26th. He was taken to a medical spring near Athens, Georgia, where he lived at the advice of his physician, in the hope that the change would do him good. His wife and two brothers-in-law went with him to the spring, where he died two days after arrival. A great many of our citizens knew Mr. Kinnebrew, as he, with his family lived here for two years. R. H. Kinnebrew was a good man, kind, generous and just. He has gone to a better world. (8 Aug 1907, Roger Mills Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Judge R. H. Kinnebrew, formerly a citizen of Elk City, and a member of the law firm of Tracy, Gilkerson and Kinnebrew, died July 26, 1907, at Franklin Springs, Georgia, of Bright's disease. At the time of his death he was a resident of Athens, Georgia, but had been taken for his health to Franklin Springs. Judge Kinnebrew lived in Elk City for two years, and had many friends here, who will regret to learn of his death; he was a typical Southern gentleman and made a host of friends here by his genial and hospitable disposition. He was a brother-in-law of our townsman, T. L. Van Vacter. The Roger Mills Democrat extends sympathy to the bereaved family and friends, who mourn his loss. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
