A. Kernell, died at the home here on December 28, and the remains were laid to rest in the local cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Grubitz & Son. (4 Jan 1917, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF BABE Harry Edward Kernell, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Kernell, died at their home in Elk City, January (December) 27 (sic), 1916 from Pneumonia, aged 11 months and 28 days. The funeral was held the following day, the body being prepared at the undertaking rooms of Grubitz & Son, on account of the serious illness of the mother. Rev. Brubaker officiated at the funeral services held at the cemetery. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of all.
