Mrs. Jessie Beatrice Kidwill died at her home in Elk City, Tuesday morning, after an illness of several weeks from typhoid fever. Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ at 2:30 p.m., yesterday afternoon, where a large number of friends and relatives gathered to pay their last respects to this noble woman. The deceased was the daughter of P. C. and Mollie Pinkerton, was born February 4th, 1877 and died July 19, 1921, aged 44 years, 5 months and 15 days. She was married to H. Kidwill at New Castle, Okla., and five children were born of this union, two having preceeded her. Those left to mourn are: Ethel, Calva and Frances, also three brothers and two sisters, L. D. Pinkerton, Elk City; P. A. Pinkerton, Delores, Colo.; P. C. Pinkerton, Tuttle, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Leona VanHorn, Hitchett, Okla., and Mrs. Ella Hill of Eastern Oklahoma. Mrs. Kidwill became a christian when a young woman and has been a member of the Church of Christ for over twenty years. She was a faithful follower of her Master, a devoted mother, always striving to lead her children aright and teach them to love the Good Shepherd who had ever been her comfort and solace. She came to Elk City about twenty years ago, undergoing the early day experiences, but made many friends by her many acts of kindness and helpful words and was highly esteemed by all who knew her. She was possessed of a strong and loving heart, always mindful of others. She lived a life without ostentation, with no desire or ambition but to do good, to love and serve those who came in contact with her, and may we emulate her virtues, and live with the high and lofty aspirations in our hearts that ever characterized her life. Her death sleep told of a calm and peaceful rest. Being dead, she yet speaks to those left behind, through the influence of a life dedicated to things highest and best. The interment was made at East Fairlawn, the grave having been neatly prepared by Grubitz & Son, and as the beautiful casket was lowered into its bed chamber blended were the thoughts of all of the going of loved ones from a world of sorrow and disappointment to the one of light and bliss.
