The deceased was born in Wheeler county, Texas. When twelve years of age her parents moved to Sweetwater, Oklahoma, where her marriage to Elmer Kinnie occured (sic) in August 1907. The funeral was held at the M. E. Church of Sweetwater on Saturday afternoon, January 26th. The opening services were conducted by Rev. Powers, the pastor of the church, after which Rev. Steele of Sayre, gave an address from the 31st chapter of Proverbs, on the Perfect Woman, who is best typified by the wife and mother of the home. Mrs. Kinnie has been a member of the M. E. Church for several years, and was a willing helper in all its departments. She was always interested in and identified with any public work. She was much interested in the Red Cross, and her last appearance among us was at the Red Cross work rooms, only a few days before her death. Besides a large circle of friends, Mrs. Kinnie leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Elmer Kinnie and two year old son, Murice (sic), on whose birthday she was laid to rest, her father, Frank Banks of Sweetwater, four sisters, Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Crabtree of Elk City, Mrs. Black of Texas, and Mrs. Fred Myers of Trinidad, Colorado. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
