KOONTZ, CARL
(14 Jun 1923, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
DEATH OF YOUNG BOY.
Carl, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Koontz of Hammon, was born
August 2, 1911, and died June 8, 1923, at the age of eleven years and ten
months.  He was taken sick at his home on Friday, June 1st with
appendicitis and operated at the Tisdale Hospital the following Tuesday,
but was too ill to withhold the shock and died on Friday.  Funeral
services were held at the First Christian church on Saturday afternoon at
2 o'clock.  Rev. C. H. Lemmex officiating.  Interment in charge of Grubitz
and Son, was made at Fairlawn cemetery.
A father, mother, five brothers, a sister and a number of other relatives
are left to mourn the death of a loved one, who had spent just a few short
years with them.  His youth, his virility, his love of life, his dreams
for the future made those left behind feel that his death was especially
hard to bear.
