Died in Elk City, June 14, 1928, aged 66 years 8 months and 26 days. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Saturday, June 16, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. Covey officiating. Interment in Canute cemetery, Gentry-Killough in charge. Obituary. Mrs. G. J. Lee Sarah Elizabeth Fox was born on September 18 (sic), 1861, in Madison county, Iowa, and departed this life at her home in Elk City, Oklahoma, on June 14, 1928, at 12:30 p.m., at the age of 66 years, 8 months and 26 days. In 1881, she was united in marriage to G. J. Lee, to which union six children were born. One son, Ira D. Lee, preceded his mother in death on November 21, 1924. Her husband, G. J. Lee, and five sons and daughters, namely: Mrs. Stella Bastin of Elk City, M. D. Lee, Newton, Kansas; V. O. Lee, Seattle, Washington; Mrs. Ira Ekern, Oklahoma City and Floyd F. Lee, Tonkawa, Oklahoma, survive their mother. In addition to her children, she leaves nine grandchildren. Sister Lee became a Christian at the age of 18, and continued steadfastly in the Christian life until her death. She and her husband came to Oklahoma in February, 1899, and have lived in Elk City during the past two years, during which time they have been members of the First Christian Church. She was loved and honored by the church and her many friends in the community. Funeral services were conducted by Carl V.
