Mrs. Ira Lee (nee Willie Patterson) died at her home near Canute Wednesday night at 10:15. Willie May Patterson was born in Montague county, Texas, August 25, 1892. She was married to Ira D. Lee, February 19th, 1910. To this union were born two children, Jesse, age nine years, and Mavie Olene, aged three weeks. Besides husband and children, Mrs. Lee leaves mother, father, one sister and two brothers, also a host of friends to mourn her departure. Born August 25, 1892, Montague county, Tex., married to Mr. Ira Lee, Feb. 19, 1910, died at Canute April 27 after an illness of three weeks. She leaves a husband, son, Jesse, age 9, and daughter, Mavie Olene, age three weeks, a father, mother, sister and two brothers and many friends to mourn her death. She was of fine character and to know her was to love her. Funeral services were at Canute, April 28. (5 May 1921, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): OBITUARY. Mrs. Ira D. Lee Willa May Patterson was born August 25, 1892, in Montague County, Texas, and died at her home in Canute, April 27th, 1921, age 28 years, 8 months and 2 days. She moved with her parents to Oklahoma about twenty years ago. She was united in marriage to Ira D. Lee February 19, 1910. To this union were born two children, Jesse, age nine years, and Mavie age three weeks. She leaves besides these, a husband, father, mother, one sister and two brothers and many other relatives and a host of friends. She was a loving mother, a kind and devoted wife and was liked by all who knew her. She left a clear testimony that she was ready to go to Glory and to meet a sister who had gone on before. She will be greatly missed in the home and community. Every one was greatly interested in her recovery and willing to give any assistance. The sympathy of the community is with the grief stricken husband and family. The funeral services were held at the Canute church, conducted by Rev. Martin.
