All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* LESTER, LENA MAY (12 Jul 1928, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Lena May Lester was born in Texas, February 24, 1882, died at Elk City, July 4, 1928, age 46 years. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church July 5, at 2:30 p.m., Rev. J. B. Conley officiating. Interment in Hebron cemetery (Washita County). Gentry-Killough in charge. (From Hammon Advocate): Just as we go to press it is learned that Mrs. J. H. Lester of east of Elk City, sister of Judge W. F. Crane, was claimed by death at four o'clock, after an illness of several months, the past seven weeks being spent in a hospital at Elk. Mrs. Lester was about 45 years of age and is survived by her husband, a little daughter, Miss Evelyn Faye, a step-daughter, Mrs. Alonzo Stewart, and three brothers and sisters, as follows: W. F. Crane, Hammon; Walter of Elk City; Frank of Texas and Mesdames Middleton of Albuquerque, N. M. The funeral will occur this afternoon at Elk City Baptist church and interment will occur at Hebron church cemetery.
