   A charge of murder was filed against Sarah EVANS, 36-year-old Negro
   woman by County Attorney Ralph HOOD, following the fatal shooting of
   another Negro woman, Sally LEWIS here Sunday afternoon in the Lincoln
   Park Negro district.
   
   The LEWIS woman, about 40 years old, was shot three times, twice
   through the head and once through the chest, dying a short time later.
   
   The county attorney said the inquiry held at the scene of the shooting
   had failed to divulge few details and that Sarah EVANS had said very
   little.
   
   (2) SHOOTING NEAR CAFE
   
   The shooting occurred in the rear of the DeLuxe cafe operated by Sam
   ROCKMORE, colored.
   
   The victim was shot with a .32 calibre Mauser pistol.
   
   County Attorney HOOD, Fred CORNELS, Undersheriff Lawson GILLUM, Bill
   THOMPSON, Police Chief Sam FLYNN and June ELLIOTT conducted the
   investigation.
   
   HOLD WITHOUT BOND
   
   The Negro woman in the county jail at Sayre was held without bond.
   County Attorney HOOD said her preliminary would be held later this
   week, according to present plans. He said he understood she would
   claim self defense.
   
   The county attorney said his investigation disclosed the two women had
   held a grudge for sometime with the victim of the shooting incensed
   over attentions allegedly paid the woman by her husband.
   
   Sarah EVANS' husband, Fred, has been in a hospital here for some time.
