LILLY, CHARLES EDWARD
(Dec 1920, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
BROTHER DIES.
Mrs. W. H. Hewlett received the message this week of the death of her
brother, Charles Edward Lilly, on last Wednesday at his home in Santa
Cruz, Calif.  He had a stroke of paralysis last March but seemed to be
slowly recovering and the family thought he would soon be well again, but
on Nov. 21, he had a relapse and though specialists were summoned from San
Francisco he continued to grow worse until his death last Wednesday, Dec.
1.  He leaves a wife and two daughters who will miss the tender care and
love of a devoted husband and father.
Mr. Lilly and family visited Mrs. Hewlett here about twelve years ago, and
no doubt many of our citizens will remember him.
He was a prominent citizen of Santa Cruz, having been post master for a
number of years.
