Hazel Jennette Lindley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Lindly (sic), died Friday noon, August 20, 1909, after a lingering illness of several months. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Saturday afternoon conducted by Rev. Sebe J. Thomas assisted by Rev. W. E. Gwatkin of Sayre. After the services at the church the body was taken to the city cemetery for interment, followed by a large concourse of sympathizing friends. (26 Aug 1909, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Died. Miss Hazel, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Lindly, on Friday after a long illness. Interment in Elk City Cemetery. Services at the Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Sebe Thomas assisted by Rev. Gwatkin. A large concourse of people gathered to express their sympathy to the bereaved parents. Every thing that could be was done, but without avail, and the grim hand of fate could not be diverted.
