All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ********************************************************************* LINVILLE, BENJAMIN JEFFERSON (5 Apr 1928, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Benjamin Jefferson Linville was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, on May 24, 1831, and died at the home of his son, R. N. Linville, Elk City, Oklahoma, at 1:30 a.m., April 4, 1928, being 96 years, 10 months and 10 days of age. In 1852 Mr. Linville was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Graham, to which union seven children were born. Mrs. Linville and four of the children preceded the husband and father in death. Three sons survive their father: I. G. Linville, Arora, Ill., B. J. Linville, Jr., of Barnes City, Iowa, and R. N. Linville, Elk City, Oklahoma. During the past fourteen years Mr. Linville has resided with Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Linville at Elk City, Okla. The deceased has been a Christian for many years, having affiliated with the Quaker church. He, like the Apostle Paul, fought a good fight, he finished the course, he has kept the faith, and now departed to receive the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, shall give. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Geo. R. Grubitz & Son, and the service was conducted by Carl V. Covey, pastor of the First Christian church, at 4 p.m., April 4, 1928.
