(12 Jun 1924, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): DEATH OF I. F. LYNCH. News was received here last week of the death of I. F. Lynch, a former resident of this place and a stepson of Grandpa Miller. He passed away on Wednesday night, June 4th, at his home 701 North Ninth street, St. Joseph, Mo. Funeral services were held Friday morning at Mount Mora Cemetery at St. Joseph. Besides his widow he is survived by a half brother, Gilbert Miller, Sayre, Oklahoma, a half sister Mrs. Emma O'Neill of Winchester, Kan., and his step-father, J. A. Miller, of Elk City. Mr. Lynch had been sick for some time but took suddenly worse and the news of his death was quite a shock to his friends here. He and his wife visited Elk City two years ago. He had a big place in his heart for Elk City where he had lived for a number of years. He was a consistent member of the First Christian Church and very faithful in attendance at same. He was a good neighbor and had sympathetic heart, was a friend to the orphan and many will ever think of him as their best friend. His was a hand always raised to succor the poor and needy, in him all found, a friend in time of need. The News Democrat joins with the many friends in extending deepest sympathy to the bereaved.
